Volunteer Van Driver

Do you enjoy driving throughout Essex? We are looking for a Barn Owl Box delivery driver.

The Essex Wildlife trust are seeking a volunteer van driver to deliver barn owl boxes across the county from our Main Offices, Abbott’s Hall Farm, outside of Colchester.

You must have a full clean UK driving licence and be confident travelling around the county, a pool van will be provided. You must also be confident and capable of loading and unloading barn owl boxes safely.

Working hours are flexible and volunteers will be required on an as and when basis depending on need.

An exploration of the many uses and activities for which The Naze has been used: Golf Course, Anti-aircraft Battery, Radar Station, Rocket Testing Range, Potential Holiday Camp and finally, Public Open Space. This walk covers about two miles on fairly even terrain and will last about two hours. We shall also take in whatever wildlife we may encounter, though sightings cannot be guaranteed. Brentwood & Billericay Walk at Blue House Farm

Summary: 

A seasonal day didn’t deter a few.

Only a small group ventured out to enjoy the sunshine and brave the icy wind at Blue House Farm. We were rewarded with sightings of at least 36 species as we made good use of the three hides for shelter, the glazed flaps being kept firmly closed! Highlights included several dozen pintails, a close view of a meadow pipit perched on a fence-post only a few feet from a hide window, a large flock of Brent geese wheeling over the marshes in the sunshine and a brief serenade from a skylark.

What happens at Forest School?

Let them get outside and explore! Look for creepy crawlies, build dens, balance on ropes, get messy in our mud kitchen, fly through trees on our rope swing, relax in our hammock, play woodland games and watch the fire.

The only limit is their imagination!
