Summary:
Come and join us for an evening with Imperial Birds of Prey. They will be bringing a selection of their birds to the centre. There will be flying demos as well as talks on the birds. A fantastic opportunity to get up close to these amazing birds. The event will be held in the visitors centre. £6 per adult and £4 per child donation. Booking is essential as numbers are limited. As part of the “30 Days Wild”, Wild Weekend why not spend a summer evening in the Ancient Woodland of Belfairs enjoying beautiful music provided by some of Essex’s most talented musicians. The Concert is located adjacent to the Centre which will be open for food and drink throughout the evening.

Follow the Peter Rabbit Trail and then hunt for minibeasts when you find Mrs Tiggiwinkle. Buy your £1 map in the shop first to find your way, bug hunting kit will be available by Mrs Tiggiwinkle. If you wish to pay by card please purchase your ticket in the shop first. No need to book but places may be limited at busy times. £3 per child for bug hunting.
Come and hunt bugs with Mrs Tiggiwinkle. Find Mrs Tiggiwinkle by following the Peter Rabbit Trail map which you can buy for £1 in the Visitor Centre or follow the arrows. Drop in event no need to book.
Do you love being outdoors? We are looking for extra help to maintain the garden around the Havens museum and the Langdon Visitor Centre.
Garden volunteers are involved with maintaining the borders, weeding, pruning and cutting the grass around our Visitor Centre and Museum.
Volunteers will need to bring suitable clothing, footwear food and drink.
This could be picked up at a suitable time to the volunteer who would be working independently, as such they would need to have a good understanding of safe work practices when working in public areas and be self-motivated.

Do you love being outdoors? We are looking for extra help to join our work party at Langdon Nature Reserve.
Work party volunteers are involved with practical maintenance of our nature reserves. At our Langdon site these activities include removal of invasive species, fencing, litter picking, path clearance, pond maintenance, coppicing, hedge laying and more.
Volunteers will need to bring suitable clothing, footwear food and drink. Please be aware that work parties may not be close to a bathroom.
Work parties run from 9.30am - 3pm, although this schedule can change, please contact the ranger before attending to confirm.

Everyone was amazed about how much is being done to create wildlife spaces in the square mile.
Thank you to Paul Beckett who gave us the benefit of his personal knowledge of planning at the City of London Corporation. His talk included information about the projected future growth of London and the increase in the popularity of green roofs, the conservation of existing wildlife and hopes for improving biodiversity. Who would have known that we have peregrine falcons in the City? Thank you Paul, for an informative and interesting evening!
