Summary: 

A practical session discovering spring birds in the North East Essex at Fingringhoe Wick Nature Reserve and Abberton Reservoir. The day will be largely spent outside looking for, listening to and identifying our spring and summer birds. You will also gain an understanding of the habitat and management requirements for a variety of breeding birds. There will be a short theory session at the beginning of the day to help you understand, that by improved note taking, fieldcraft and observation you can improve your bird identification skills.

What to bring?: 

Sturdy footwear suitable for all conditions (walking boots or Wellingtons) warm, waterproof clothes for wet weather conditions and sun cream and hats if sunny, we will go outside whatever the weather! Tea, coffee & biscuits will be provided. You will need to bring lunch/refreshments as we will be on site for much of the day. Binoculars will be needed and if you have a telescope it would be useful. Please also bring a notebook and pen/pencil (important for taking field notes).
