Buzzards are mesmerising birds but were you aware that they disappeared from Essex for decades? Now they’re back and thriving and excitingly a pair has returned to one of our nature reserves to successfully raise chicks for the third year in a row.
These two chicks were carefully ringed under a BTO licence and the research will go on a national database, helping to record the abundance and distribution of these amazing birds in the UK.
