Quick summary:
Do you want to make a difference for Wildlife in Essex? A volunteer warden is required to regularly monitor Woodham Fen. This 20 acre reserve lies between and near the tidal limits of two small creeks running south into the River Crouch. There is a wide range of saltmarsh plants and the reserve also attracts many unusual birds. The Warden will report to the reserves office at the Essex Wildlife Trust Main Office’s. Full training will be provided. Volunteers need a willingness to be outside, a keen eye for spotting change, an appreciation of the importance of keeping records up to date and the ability to be self-motivated.
Overview:
• Checking on local nature reserves, effectively being the Trust’s eyes and ears on the ground for a particular reserve.
• Communicating effectively with the Trust’s staff about any issues with the reserve.
• Independently following appropriate guidelines for safe practice and lone working.
