Young voices for the environment in Westminster

Over 60 MPs from around the country met with young people from across The Wildlife Trusts at a Parliamentary Reception at Portcullis House.

The Wildlife Trusts invited all MPs to meet with the CEO and a young person from their respective Trust at a Parliamentary Reception in Westminster.

Caroline Lucas MP gave an introductory speech, emphasising the need for young people to connect with nature. Then young people spoke about their views on the natural environment, including why we need to safeguard nature for the future.

For Essex, 3 MPs attended the event: John Whittingdale MP for Maldon, Giles Watling MP for Clacton and James Duddridge MP for Rochford and Southend East.
